Maps died in the hills and PickMe moto is half the price of a car - sane with a backpack or how people lose a phone
Dual-SIM still flakes above Ella. Downloaded offline Google area but the blue dot lies. PickMe shows moto / tuktuk. I have a 40L pack. Is moto a real tourist option or a helmet-on-a-stranger thing.

Offline Maps + Maps.me as backup, download the whole Uva district on wifi. Moto is a local hop - helmet must go on (law, not a vibe), bag in your lap or you take a tuk. I would not moto a 40L down a wet hairpin. Tuk or a car to the station.
Moto in Colombo for me-plus-tote, fine. Refused it in the hills with luggage.
Pin a junction that exists. If the driver calls and asks you to cancel and pay cash, that is a no.
Scam Watch: ella
People outside stations offer to "help" buy tickets but charge large markups. They may buy cheap third-class tickets and sell as more expensive classes.
