Same tuk who wanted thousands at 8.40 just halved it - real collapse or still a mark-up

9.12, two streets off the lake. The driver who laughed at us at 8.40 is back, pointing at the empty road, saying "now cheap, special, I take you." The number is lower. It is still a number. Apps still mostly blank. Is this the actual after-parade collapse or the same surge in a softer voice.

It is a softer surge, not a meter. The loop is still unwinding; he still has you. Walk toward Gopallawa or the railway-station park and then open PickMe, or walk the last ten minutes if the hotel is that close. If you do take him, agree the number before you sit and do not add "plus meter" later. I will not type a fair rupee - there isn't an official after-Perahera tariff.

Last night the first "cheap now" quote was still silly. The third driver, off the lake, was closer to ordinary. Walking was free.
