Take the hiking path towards Kithal Ella waterfall. It is a true hidden gem tucked into the jungle right off the railway tracks on the way to Ella Rock. Because it requires a short hike off the main road, tour buses cannot get there. The pool at the base is very calm during the dry season and perfectly safe for a secluded, quiet swim.
If the water looks brown and muddy, do not swim. It means heavy rain upstream and flash floods could happen.
No, absolutely do not cliff jump. The rocks are jagged and hidden just below the water surface.
Bring leech socks! That specific trail is very damp and the leeches are everywhere.
