Can we reach this beautiful lake using public transport or is a private car required.

Sembuwatta Lake is located high up in the Elkaduwa tea plantations. There is no direct public bus to the lake itself. You must take a bus to Elkaduwa town from Matale, and then hire a local tuk tuk to navigate the final, very steep and rocky dirt road up to the water.
