Tape is down on our alley - walk out to Gopallawa now or wait for a lake-side tuk

The red-and-white tape on our side street just came down and people are already leaking toward the bypass. Hotel is lake-side. We need to be on William Gopallawa for a Colombo-direction car. Is this the window where walking out is actually possible or are we about to meet a still-closed junction and turn around with the bags.

If your alley tape is down, walk out now, inland / toward Gopallawa, bags on you. Do not wait for a lake-side tuk to become legal - that street is the last to normalise. Old Peradeniya Road is the other published Colombo in-and-out. Pin the junction, not the lake.

We left the second our lane opened last night and had a PickMe on Gopallawa in the time it took the lake people to argue with a driver.

William Gopallawa Mawatha and Old Peradeniya Road were named for a reason. Use them. Do not cut back across Dalada with suitcases because Maps says it is 90 seconds.
