If we skip 6.28 the romantic version is a Saturday hill train. We already know the line is still the split picture, not a reconnect. This is not the 10pm ticket window. This is: walk from the lake to Kandy station now at 11 so we are sleeping near a morning board, not a 5am tuk across leftover cones. Sane, or a two-hour-after-Kumbal walk we will regret.

Kandy station is a walk inland from the lake, not a Dalada drive. 11pm after a Kumbal is leftover tape, tired legs, 1,749. Do not cut the loop. Do not sleep on a platform as a plan - I cannot swear 21 Aug 23:00 waiting-room hours; assume closed until you see a light and a person. The Ditwah split still means a Kandy-station board may not be a through Ella train. Confirm in the morning at the station / railway.gov.lk, not from a 22:55 walk.

If the train is the trip, sleep here, go at dawn, accept you may van to the upper board. A 23:00 recce is how you meet a dark facade (other thread).

We walked. Board was dark. Morning was the actual information. No invented ticket, no invented 08:00 consist.
