I want to avoid the Instagram crowds. Is it better to go for sunrise or sunset to get a clear photo of the palm trees and the ocean.

Sunrise is much quieter than sunset. Most tourists arrive around five in the afternoon for the golden hour, and it can get very crowded. If you arrive at half past six in the morning, you will often find only a handful of people there. The light is beautiful and the temperature is much cooler for the short walk up the red cliff.
