The best time to visit Sri Lanka for sunny weather on the popular south and west coasts is between December and April. The skies are clear and the ocean is very calm. For the east coast beaches, visit between May and September.

December to April is perfect for the hill country as well. If you want to avoid the heavy monsoons entirely, stick to the southern beaches during the European winter months.
