It is my worst nightmare. How do we safely stop the vehicle if the pedal goes soft.

If you experience brake fade while descending a steep mountain road, do not panic. Immediately shift the tuk tuk into a low gear, like second or first gear. This utilizes engine braking, which forces the engine compression to naturally slow the vehicle down significantly. Once the vehicle slows down, carefully pull the handbrake lever located near the steering column to bring it to a complete stop against the hillside.
