I heard about a place called Aluthkade. What are the must try dishes there and is it safe for tourists to eat from the stalls.

Aluthkade is the heart of Colombo night street food, located near Pettah. You must try the Beef Babath, the unique Burj Khalifa burger, and the spicy various types of Kottu. The food is generally safe as the turnover is extremely high and everything is cooked fresh in front of you. It only really comes alive after nine in the evening and stays open until the early hours of the morning.

For something sweet to end your meal, try the Woodapple juice or the various flavored milkshakes sold at the end of the street. It is very busy and loud, so go with an adventurous appetite.
