The food vendors at Galle Face are generally very safe because the turnover is incredibly high. Thousands of locals eat there every evening. The "Isso Wade" (deep-fried prawn lentil fritters) and Kottu Roti are cooked at very high heat right in front of you, which kills bacteria. Just avoid drinking tap water or buying fruit that has been sitting on ice.

I ate three prawn wades and a chicken kottu there last week. No stomach issues at all, and it was delicious.

Bring hand sanitizer and wet wipes, as there are no proper handwashing facilities out on the green.
