Our hotel does not serve local sweets. Where can we buy Kavum and Kokis in the city.

During the festival week in April you can absolutely easily buy massive mixed boxes of traditional sweets at any large Keells or Cargills Food City supermarket located throughout Colombo. They proudly display them near the entrance.

For exceptionally high quality freshly made sweets you must visit specialized bakeries like Sponge or Perera and Sons. They sell beautifully packaged hampers filled with authentic perfectly fried Mung Kavum and Aluwa.

If you want a truly local chaotic market experience head directly to the street vendors near Pettah or Maharagama. They fry the sweets entirely fresh right on the pavement in massive hot oil woks.
