High end luxury night clubs in Colombo are generally very safe and highly sophisticated environments. Venues located in major five star hotels or upscale districts employ massive teams of professional bouncers who strictly enforce the rules and instantly remove anyone causing trouble. If anyone makes you feel uncomfortable instantly notify the bar staff who are highly protective of foreign guests. Your only real concern should be taking a reliable metered tuk tuk or an Uber directly from the club entrance back to your hotel rather than walking the quiet city streets alone at 3 AM.

Driver claims the meter is broken and quotes an inflated flat rate. Common on arrival at airport or railway stations when tourists are tired and disoriented.
Drivers wearing official-looking uniforms claim to be "government-approved" and charge 3-5x normal rates. They may have fake badges or ID cards.
Women with babies approach asking you to buy milk powder at a nearby shop (not cash). The shop is run by accomplices and charges 5-10x normal price.
