Will we starve on the beach if the whole country shuts down for the full moon.

You absolutely will not starve. While highly local businesses banks and government offices completely shut down massive tourist hubs like Mirissa essentially ignore the closures regarding food.

Almost every single cafe restaurant and beach shack in Mirissa will remain fully open and happily serve you breakfast lunch and dinner perfectly normally. The only strict difference is they will definitively refuse to serve you any alcohol with your meal.
