Are there night tours available to see wildlife in Polonnaruwa?
I heard there are slender lorises living near the ancient ruins. Can tourists join a guided walk to see nocturnal animals after the archaeological site closes.

The Primate Center in Polonnaruwa offers specialized nocturnal tours that focus on the Grey Slender Loris. These walks are led by researchers who use red light torches to avoid disturbing the animals. You are very likely to see them hunting insects among the trees. It is a very different experience from the daytime monkey tours and allows you to see the ancient city area in a completely new light. Wear long trousers and insect repellent as the mosquitoes are very active at dusk.
