Bambarakiri Ella is incredibly picturesque, but swimming in the deep pool at the very base of the falls is notoriously dangerous due to strong, hidden undercurrents. It is strictly advised to only admire its beauty from the suspension bridge or paddle safely in the shallow streams further down.
