Climbing up to the main waterfall and bathing in the upper rock pools of Ravana Falls is actually strictly prohibited by law due to safety concerns and slippery rocks.
However, there are safe, shallow natural pools right at the very base of the falls near the main road where tourists and locals frequently splash around and cool off safely.
Just be cautious during the heavy rainy season from May to September, as the water rushes down with incredible power, making even the bottom pools slightly hazardous.

People outside stations offer to "help" buy tickets but charge large markups. They may buy cheap third-class tickets and sell as more expensive classes.
