Casuarina Beach is indeed highly rated by locals. It is located on Karainagar Island, about a 45 minute scenic drive from Jaffna. The water there is incredibly shallow and perfectly calm, making it feel like a giant, warm swimming pool.

It is arguably the best and safest swimming beach in the northern province. However, it can get quite busy with local families on weekends. If you visit on a weekday morning, you will likely have the beautiful white sand entirely to yourself.
