For a 6 hour direct transfer book a private car ahead PickMe long distance does work but at 230 am drivers may cancel Reliable options Kangaroo Cabs and JC Holidays charge around 22000 to 25000 LKR for airport to Mirissa via the Southern Expressway Highway is fully lit and safe most drivers will stop once for coffee at Welipenna service area
Honestly sleep one night in Negombo for 15 USD and start fresh next morning Surfboard rental at Mirissa is south coast off season closed anyway in June
If your Mirissa stay offers airport pickup it is usually cheaper than booking direct ask them first
Expressway toll is around 750 LKR per car for that route Driver builds it into quote but ask if it is included
Scam Watch: colombo
Driver claims the meter is broken and quotes an inflated flat rate. Common on arrival at airport or railway stations when tourists are tired and disoriented.
Drivers wearing official-looking uniforms claim to be "government-approved" and charge 3-5x normal rates. They may have fake badges or ID cards.
Women with babies approach asking you to buy milk powder at a nearby shop (not cash). The shop is run by accomplices and charges 5-10x normal price.
