Deep sea fishing charters in Weligama and beach BBQ for the catch

We want to surf Weligama in the morning and then charter a deep sea fishing boat. If we catch tuna or Mahi Mahi, are there restaurants on the beach that will grill our catch for us.

Mahi Mahi and Yellowfin Tuna are definitely running offshore right now. We do 4-hour trolling trips leaving from the Weligama harbor. If you catch a good-sized fish, almost any of the seafood restaurants lined up on Weligama Beach (like Fish Point) will clean it, marinate it in garlic and lime, and BBQ it for you for a small corkage fee.

Surfing the morning glass at 6 AM and then jumping on a boat at 10 AM is the ultimate coastal day. Make sure you ask the restaurant to serve the grilled fish with garlic butter and hot paratha.
