Dewata surf schools and transitioning to Galle Fort nightlife

I am doing a beginner surf camp at Dewata beach near Galle. What is the quickest way to get from the beach to the nightlife inside Galle Fort, and what is the dress code.

Dewata is less than 10 minutes from Galle Fort by tuk tuk. Just hail one on the main road for about 400 LKR. Galle Fort nightlife is a bit more upscale than the bare-foot beach raves down south. You will want to wear nice shorts and a linen shirt to places like The Galle Fort Hotel bar or the boutique rooftop lounges.

Dewata is great for learning because it is super protected, but the water quality is not the best since it is near the commercial harbor.

If you want crazy parties, skip the Fort and head to Unawatuna. The Fort is mostly just expensive cocktails and quiet dinners.
