There are no active military no-fly zones directly over Main Point, but you still legally need CAASL approval. Ethically, do not hover low over the lineup. The buzzing noise is highly annoying to surfers waiting for waves. Fly high, get your tracking shots, and bring it back quickly.

Watch out for the sea eagles! They frequently attack drones in Arugam Bay because they think it is a rival bird.

Also, launch from the sand dunes, not the crowded beach. The wind can catch your drone and crash it into someone on the beach.
