East coast surfing and partying in Arugam Bay

Yes, Sababa at Whisky Point throws legendary Friday night parties during the peak season (June to August). Because it is located a 15-minute drive outside the main town of Arugam Bay, it rarely gets shut down early for noise complaints. The party usually goes until sunrise. Just negotiate your tuk-tuk ride home BEFORE you go out.
They charge tourist club prices, so yes, it is more expensive than buying a local Lion beer in town.
Mambos on Saturday night at Main Point is also massive and right on the beach.
Also, it is a sand floor, so do not wear nice shoes.
Watch out for wild elephants if you are driving a scooter back to town at night. They cross that dirt road frequently.
