Habarana Saturday - did the herd walk over to Kaudulla?
23 Aug, staying Habarana. Every safari WhatsApp says "300 elephants guaranteed". Other people say the herd walked to Kaudulla. How do we not pay for the wrong park?

The Gathering is real. Dry-season herds pack the tank grass. Peak talk is August-September, building through July. They move between Minneriya and Kaudulla (and Hurulu) with the water. Book a jeep that can switch park the same afternoon. Afternoon from about 14:00-15:00 is when they come out. Nobody honest "guarantees 300".
We let the driver call at 1pm. Went Kaudulla, maybe 80-100, still ridiculous. Minneriya jeep jam on weekends is a thing.
Same foreigner permit ballpark as the other DWC parks. Cheap "safari" quote is often jeep only, ticket is extra at the gate.
