Safari in Sri Lanka, which national park is the best?
1 Answer from travellers
Choosing the best national park depends on what animals you want to see most. If your primary goal is to see wild elephants in massive herds, Udawalawe National Park is the absolute best choice. It has open landscapes and almost guarantees incredible elephant sightings year round. If you want the thrill of potentially spotting a leopard, Yala National Park is world famous for its high density of leopards, though it can get quite crowded with jeeps. Finally, if you are visiting the Cultural Triangle between July and October, Minneriya National Park hosts the famous Elephant Gathering, which is an incredible natural spectacle.
