Hidden cliff jumps near Ella waterfalls safe for tourists
3 Answers from travellers
There is no such thing as a guaranteed safe cliff jump in Ella. The water levels in Ravana and Kithal Ella fluctuate wildly depending on upstream rain. A pool that was 10 feet deep yesterday might be 3 feet deep today with boulders shifted by floods. Do not jump. Many tourists suffer severe spinal injuries here every year. Swim, but do not dive or jump.
If you want adrenaline, do the mega zipline instead. Cliff jumping here is a death wish.
Even if the locals jump, do not follow them. They grew up there and know exactly where the submerged rocks are.

People outside stations offer to "help" buy tickets but charge large markups. They may buy cheap third-class tickets and sell as more expensive classes.
