How difficult is diving in Sri Lanka for beginners.
1 Answer from travellers
Unawatuna is actually one of the absolute best places in the world for complete beginners to try scuba diving. The bay is naturally highly protected meaning there are virtually zero strong ocean currents and the water is incredibly warm and clear. Numerous PADI certified dive centers operate directly on the beach offering Discovery Scuba Dive programs. An expert instructor will hold your hand the entire time guiding you over shallow vibrant coral reefs swarming with colorful fish. It is perfectly safe and an incredible introduction to the underwater world.
