Absolutely! We take surfers up on tandem flights all the time for this exact reason. From 500 feet up, you can see exactly how the south swells are wrapping around the reefs from Koggala down to Midigama. It is the ultimate wave scouting tool.

Bring a GoPro on a wrist strap. You can map out the shallow coral heads from the air so you know exactly what to avoid when you are in the water.

Do you have to book weeks in advance for the paramotor flights or can you just walk up to the airstrip in Koggala on a clear morning.

That is next level surf logic. I usually just rely on Magicseaweed, but seeing the actual reef structure from the sky would be insane.
