I am participating in a village New Year celebration. Is it safe to eat milk rice that has been left out on the table for a few hours.

Because Kiribath contains coconut milk, it can spoil quite quickly in the April heat, which often exceeds thirty degrees. It is best eaten within two hours of preparation. If it has been sitting out uncovered for a long time, it is safer to avoid it. Traditional fried sweets like Kavum and Kokis are much safer as their low moisture and high sugar content act as natural preservatives.
