One hour is usually enough to quickly see the main shrine room and the floating Seema Malaka temple on the lake. However, if you want to properly explore the massive, labyrinth like museum and antique car collection, you should allocate at least two hours.

The temple is incredibly dense with artifacts. Taking your time to admire the intricate wood carvings and the giant Buddha statues without rushing makes the visit much more enjoyable.
