Is the hike down to the plunge pool dangerous and do we need special hiking boots.

The hike down to the base plunge pool of Laxapana Falls is entirely composed of very steep, uneven concrete steps. It is physically taxing on the knees, especially on the climb back up, but it is not technically dangerous.

You do not need specialized hiking boots, but sturdy sports shoes with good grip are essential, as the steps are constantly wet and slippery from the immense mist generated by the waterfall.
