We are visiting in March (peak pilgrimage season). Can a healthy 10-year-old manage the 5000 stairs of Adam's Peak at night?

Yes, local families do it with much younger children and even infants! A healthy 10-year-old will probably have an easier time than the adults. Just ensure they have warm clothes for the freezing summit, and take lots of breaks at the tea stalls along the way.

The hardest part isn't the cardio, it's the sleep deprivation since you start at 2 AM. If the kid is okay with walking in the dark while tired, they will crush the stairs.
