Most tourists choose to stay in the small guesthouses located in Udawalawe town or along the main road leading to the park gate. It is very affordable and makes organizing a 5:30 AM jeep pickup incredibly easy.

However, if you have the budget, booking a luxury glamping tent located directly on the borders of the park or near the reservoir is a phenomenal experience. You can hear the elephants and wildlife moving through the brush at night from your bed.
