Eating pre cut fruit sold from small street carts is universally considered the fastest way to get travelers diarrhea in Sri Lanka. The vendors frequently wash the fruit and their knives in unfiltered tap water.

Furthermore the fruit often sits exposed to the hot tropical sun and flies for hours. To be completely safe you must only buy whole unpeeled fruits from the market and carefully slice them yourself back in your hotel room.
