Is the glass bottom boat in Hikkaduwa worth it for seeing coral?
1 Answer from travellers
While the Hikkaduwa reef has suffered from bleaching, there are still sections with healthy coral and plenty of reef fish. The glass bottom boat is a good option if you do not want to get wet, especially for families with small kids. However, for the best experience, snorkeling is much better as you can reach the outer reef sections where the marine life is more active. You will almost certainly see green turtles near the shore regardless of which you choose.
