Jami Ul Alfar Red Mosque architecture and late night Colombo casinos
2 Answers from travellers
The Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque, built in 1909, is a masterpiece of Indo-Saracenic architecture. Its candy-striped red and white brickwork was so iconic that sailors approaching Colombo port used it as a landmark. For photography, late afternoon light hitting the minarets is perfect. Just remember to dress modestly to enter the courtyard.
After exploring Pettah, Ballys Casino and Bellagio are the top spots. Ballys has a great party atmosphere with live music, dancing, and free buffets if you are playing at the tables. It is open 24/7.
