Juice cart just fired up on Raja Veediya - safe now the crowd thinned or still a Perahera-tax cup

9.31, Raja Veediya. The procession is gone. A man just opened a cooler and started pouring orange stuff into bags. Kid is staring. We did not eat the kerb bun at 8.40. Is a juice or an ice cream from a cart after the crush actually a different hygiene story or the same unsealed-ice problem with fewer witnesses.

After is not cleaner. The ice has been in that box since late afternoon. If you want sugar, a sealed bottle from a lit shop two streets inland is the honest version. A bag of juice on Raja Veediya at 9.31 is still a street cup.

We bought the ice cream last night because the kid was done. Fine. We would not do the open juice. Sealed soda from the shop behind the temple road.

If you do it, watch it opened in front of you, pay cash, do not bargain like it is a gem. Walk while you eat. Do not sit on the Maligawa-facing steps with a dripping bag - that is the rude version, not the sacred one.
