Just saw Pulathisi Raja with the relic casket - is that the end of the 4th Kumbal
Ada Derana said tonight's Sacred Casket is on Pulathisi Raja and I am pretty sure we just watched that exact elephant go by with a gold something on his back. People are still packed. Drums still going. Is the relic the finale or do the devales still have a whole show after this. Kid's deal was "until the holy one."

The Maligawa tusker with the casket is the peak, not always the last thing on the road. The four devale peraheras (Natha, Vishnu, Kataragama, Pattini) still process on a Kumbal night, without the Randoli palanquins you came for from Instagram. If the kid's deal was the relic, you may leave with a clear conscience. If you stay, you are staying for more drums and more elephants, not a second casket.
We left after the casket last night and felt fine. Tonight we stayed and it was "more of the same, slightly further back." Sunday is when the queens' palanquins change the picture.
5th Kumbal tomorrow 6.28 still happens. First Randoli Sunday 6.44 is the first real jump. Tonight's relic is not the festival ending.
