The Keerimalai springs are highly revered sacred bathing pools. They are separated into men and women sections. The water is constantly refreshed by the ocean tides, making it clean enough for a very unique dip.
Locals believe the mineral rich water has healing properties. It is perfectly safe for foreign tourists to bathe there, just ensure you dress modestly before and after your swim.
While the water is considered holy and refreshing, the changing facilities are quite basic and rustic. Do not expect a luxury spa experience, but rather a deeply cultural one.
