Jaffna is exceptionally safe and features a profoundly deeply welcoming traditional local Tamil culture. Violent crime against tourists is virtually completely nonexistent. The locals are incredibly hospitable and eager to gently share their history.

As a solo female you will experience absolutely no massive harassment. Just remember to always dress highly conservatively especially specifically when visiting the incredibly sacred Nallur Kandaswamy Hindu temple to show deep cultural respect.
