Kumana instead of cramming Yala before September - same park system, fewer jeeps?

Yala Block 1 circus is not our thing and it rests in early September anyway. Kumana is the east side of that wilderness, birdy, closer to Panama / A-Bay. Is it open, is the road from Pottuvil sane, and do we still pay a national-park ticket.

Kumana is a separate national park (the old Yala East), famous for birds and quieter tracks. Open as a park, not as a pilgrimage corridor. You still need a DWC ticket and a jeep. From A-Bay / Panama it is the logical wild day. Leopards exist; they are not the product. August heat - morning only.

We did Kumana from Panama, two other jeeps all morning, painted storks, a croc, no cat. Preferred it to the Yala stories.
