The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) issued a Level 2 landslide warning for Nuwara Eliya and Badulla districts yesterday. While the main Colombo-Badulla train is currently running slowly, there are frequent delays because railway workers have to clear fallen trees and small mudslides off the tracks.

Check the local news app Ada Derana. They post immediate updates if a road or train line is completely blocked.

I took the train to Ella this morning. It took 12 hours instead of 9 due to the weather. Bring extra snacks.
