I am heading to Nilaveli next week. Has the water cleared up enough for snorkeling with the reef sharks at Pigeon Island.

Yes, the East Coast season has officially begun. The ocean has flattened out beautifully and visibility at Pigeon Island is currently between 15 to 20 meters. It is an excellent time to see the Blacktip Reef Sharks and Hawksbill Turtles before the heavy tourist crowds arrive in July.
