Safe alternative waterfalls to swim in near Ella besides Ravana

Everyone says swimming at the main Ravana Falls is dangerous. Are there smaller, safer waterfalls near Ella where we can swim without the risk of flash floods.

Yes! Hire a tuk-tuk and ask to go to Kithal Ella falls or Secret Waterfall. They are much smaller, secluded cascades set deep in the jungle. The pools are calm and perfectly safe for a dip. You will likely have the entire place to yourself, away from the massive crowds at Ravana.

There is also a lovely natural rock pool on the way down from Ella Rock where hikers stop to splash their faces. Very safe.

Diyaluma is an hour away, but the upper pools there are the ultimate safe swimming spots in the region.
