Absolutely NOT. St. Clairs Falls is incredibly dangerous for swimming. The water flow is controlled by the Upper Kotmale Dam upstream. They can release water without warning, causing sudden, violent flash floods at the base of the falls. Multiple tourists and locals have drowned here. Admire it from the designated viewpoints on the Hatton-Talawakele highway.

There is a great viewing deck with a cafe on the main road. You get perfect photos without risking your life.

If you want a safe waterfall to swim in, ask a local tuk-tuk driver to take you to one of the smaller, dam-free cascades deep inside the tea estates.
