South Coast train stations (Galle, Weligama, Matara) safety and facilities?

Galle station is the busiest and generally safe with staff around during the day. Weligama and Matara are smaller and quieter. All have basic facilities — toilets, small shops, and waiting areas. Galle has the best facilities among the three. Keep valuables with you and be aware in crowded periods. Stations are generally fine during daylight hours. At night they become very quiet, so it's better to have transport arranged if arriving or departing late.
