We are staying in Galle but booked a 6:30 AM whale tour in Mirissa. Do the public buses run early enough to get us there on time.

The normal route 32 buses run 24/7 along the coast, but early morning schedules are highly unreliable. You would need to be at the Galle bus stand by 4:45 AM. It is far too risky if you have an expensive boat ticket. Negotiate a tuk-tuk the night before; it will take 45 minutes and cost around 2500 LKR, but you are guaranteed to make it.

Do not risk the bus. The boats leave the harbor exactly at 6:30 AM and they will not wait for you.

Also, you need to arrive by 6:00 AM to check in and take your motion sickness pills.
