I'll be moving between south coast towns alone. How safe are tuk-tuks at night and any tips?

In main tourist areas like Galle Fort, Unawatuna, and Weligama, tuk-tuks are generally fine during the day. At night, pre-arrange through your hotel or guesthouse rather than flagging one on the street, especially if you're alone. Many places have trusted drivers. Share your location with someone when traveling at night. Most drivers are respectful, but it's always safer to use known contacts after dark. In quieter areas or very late, some women prefer to travel with another person or use hotel transport. Daytime travel is usually hassle-free in these tourist zones.

Pre-arrange at night through your accommodation. Daytime is generally fine in tourist areas. Trust your instincts.
