Unawatuna main beach right now at 4pm - safe for solo girl to swim alone?
Just got here. Beach looks okay but no lifeguard visible. Anyone swimming now or should I wait till more people?

Main beach is usually fine during day, lots of people around. But if no lifeguard and you're not strong swimmer, maybe stay close to shore or wait a bit. Currents can surprise. Many solo girls swim but stay aware.
I swam earlier, was okay but waves a bit stronger than I expected. Stay near other people.
Daytime main beach is generally safe. Just don't go far out alone. People around help if anything.

Someone befriends you and offers a "once in a lifetime" opportunity to buy gems at wholesale prices and resell them abroad for huge profit. They may show you fake export certificates. The gems are worthless glass or low-quality stones.
Restaurants without visible prices. Bill arrives with inflated charges (500 LKR coconut becomes 1500 LKR). "Service charges" added without disclosure.
