We only have time for one safari. If we want to see large herds of elephants, should we pick Udawalawe or Yala.

If your primary goal is seeing massive herds of wild elephants, Udawalawe National Park is definitely better than Yala. The landscape is wide open, making elephant sightings incredibly frequent and almost guaranteed throughout the entire year.
